David Daniels, Nathan Gunn to Star in New Works at Santa Fe Opera

The Santa Fe Opera will present three new works in the coming years, according to The New York Times.David Daniels will star as playwright Oscar Wilde in Oscar, composed by Theodore Morrison and featuring a libretto by the director John Cox, to premiere in 2013. Cox and Kevin Newbury will co-direct the work.

In 2014, Santa Fe will present American premiere of Miss Fortune by the British composer Judith Weir. The work is based on a Sicilian folktale.

Coming in 2015, Nathan Gunn will star in Cold Mountain, which is based on the best-selling novel about a Civil War deserter by Charles Frazier. It features music by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon and a libretto by Gene Scheer.
