Productions Announced for Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival 2012

Independent Shakespeare Company has announced the productions planned for its Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival 2012, which takes place at the Old Zoo at Griffith Park.

The festival will open with Shakespeare’s rarely produced romance The Winter’s Tale (June 28-July 29), directed by Sanford Robbins. The festival’s second offering will be Shakespeare’s beloved comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream (July 5-September 2), directed by Melissa Chalsma. The design team for both will include Caitlin Lainoff (set deisgn), Garry Lennon (costume design), and Bosco Flanagan (lighting design).

Finally, Independent Shakespeare Company will present A Comedy of Errors (August 2-September 1), a faced paced comedy directed by Melissa Chalsma. The design team will feature Caitlin Lainoff (set deisgn), Katr Bishop (costume design), and Bosco Flanagan (lighting design).

In addition to the three productions, Independent Shakespeare Company will present nine Players in the Park/Jugamos en el Parque pre-show workshops. Led by ISC teaching artists, these workshops are an interactive, entertaining way for families to learn about the performances.
