WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

During the 1950's and 60's, one of America's greatest comic performers was not a Stand-Up Comedian or a Sit-Com Star. He was a Math Professor at Harvard named Tom Lehrer. Tom began writing satirical songs when he was in the army for his own amusement. Later he was persuaded to record some of his songs "just for friends." As word spread about the recording, it was commercially released and quickly sold over a million copies, becoming one of the most popular "party records" of all time. His songs always maintained a perfect balance of good-natured irreverence and brilliant wit as they took aim at every Sacred Cow in our culture, from Religion ("The Vatican Rag") to the Boy Scouts ("Be Prepared") to the Military Industrial Complex ("We Will All Go Together"). Don't miss this celebration of the Math Professor who combined the musical skills of Cole Porter with the comic genius of George Carlin to create some of the funniest songs ever written!
