WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Palm Beach Dramaworks presents the final segment of their successful Master Playwright's Series featuring scenes from various Noel Coward plays in the Noel Coward Overview as well as a full staged reading of Hay Fever. In addition to the readings, the evenings will invite audience participation, discussion and an overview of the work and themes. Chairman of the Dramaworks board of directors, Mark Perlberg will host and moderate the overview evenings having consulted with the foremost authority on Noel Coward - Barry Day. On May 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th scenes from his plays along with musical accompaniment will be performed as part of the Noel Coward Overview followed by a reading of Hay Fever on May 24th, 25th, June 1st and June 4th. Hay Fever, a comedy of manners that made Noel Coward one of the most popular playwrights of the 30s and 40s, is set in an English country house in the 1920s. Four members of the eccentric Bliss family each invite a guest for the weekend. Self-centered and outlandish behavior soon causes their house guests to flee, all to the oblivion of the Bliss'.
