WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Love Never Dies continues the story of 'The Phantom', who has moved from his lair in the Paris Opera House to haunt the fairgrounds of Coney Island, far across the Atlantic. Set 10 years after the mysterious disappearance of 'The Phantom' from Paris, this show is a rollercoaster ride of obsession and intrigue...in which music and memory can play cruel tricks...and 'The Phantom' sets out to prove that, indeed, Love Never Dies.
WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?
Sequels are always potentially dangerous ground, and this has certainly proved to be the case with Love Never Dies, Andrew Lloyd Webber's follow-up to his most popular musical, The Phantom of the Opera, now at the Adelphi Theatre. The new show, directed by Jack O'Brien, turns out to be muddled and baffling, and full of moments of unintentional humor. It is also unlikely to satisfy existing Phantom fans nor attract new ones.
The story is set 10 years after the events of the original. The Phantom (Ramin Karimloo) has fled to America -- specifically to Coney Island, where surrounded by freaks and circus folk he has created his own Barnum-style attraction, Phantasma. Meg Giry (Summer Strallen)[...]

Had the pleasure of seeing this show last summer in London. Definitely not another Phantom, but a wonderful continuation. The London cast was outstanding, and the music haunting. Sorry to hear it is ending in London, hope it comes to the US.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies will play its final performance at the West End's Adelphi Theatre on August 27, according to a report in Variety.
The musical features music by Webber, a book by Ben Elton and lyrics by Glenn Slater. It is directed by Jack O'Brien and features choreography by Jerry Mitchell and designs by Bob Crowley. The production opened at the Adelphi in March 2010. It subsequently went on a brief hiatus and in a restructured new version, which has additional material by Charles Hart.
