Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the musical stage adaptation of the 1994 Oscar-winning Australian film, receives its European premiere. The show is directed by Simon Phillips, written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, and stars Jason Donovan as Mitzi/Tick, Tony Sheldon as Bernadette, Oliver Thornton as Felicia/Adam, and Clive Carter as Bob. In the show, which premiered in Australia in 2006, Sydney drag queen Mitzi (aka Tick) and her two fish-out-of-water friends, Felicia (Adam) and transsexual Bernadette, head west across the desert to Alice Springs in their battered old bus. Like the film, the musical is fashioned around classic disco hits including "I Love the Nightlife," "I Will Survive", "Shake Your Groove Thing" and "Finally".
