WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Six actors in multiple roles take audiences on an intensely intimate and uproarious joy-ride through the private moments of other people's unusual lives in Shorts: David Lindsay-Abaire.
Prize-winning playwright, Lindsay-Abaire originally wrote the three one-act comedies in Shorts as part of The 24 Hour Plays On Broadway. TheaterMania.com called them "Astute and eye-opening," and the New York Times said the plays exemplify Lindsay-Abaire's "gift for outrageous dialogue and situations." Now Artattack Theater Ensemble brings this quirky collection of comedies to the VoxBox for its Seattle debut:
Crazy Eights. Connie is surprised to come home to find her parole officer waiting in her apartment with a long list of questions and a torte. But things get complicated when Connie's charming card-playing buddy arrives for a late night date.
Baby Food. An off-kilter couple with a newborn infant invite the prospective godparents for a special dinner. Little do they know the friends they've chosen are less adventurous diners -- and on the verge of divorce.
That Other Person. Ginge and Kevin have just told their respective spouses a marriage-shattering secret. But their big reveal is upstaged when a peeping-tom with secrets of her own falls in the pool and nearly drowns.
