Mary Zimmerman's magical adaptation captures Scheherazade's tales of love, lust, comedy, and dreams in ancient Iraq. A twelve-member cast offers a blend of the lesser-known tales from Arabian Nights to show that the magic of storytelling holds the power to change people. Scheherazade's cliffhanger stories prevent her husband, the cruel ruler Shahryar, from murdering her as the ensemble weaves her gorgeous parables into reality.
