The Piano Lesson
The Piano Lesson Tickets and Information
Synopsis
The Arena Stage presents The Piano Lesson by August Wilson and directed by Seret Scott. In the parlor of a row house in Pittsburgh, a piano keeps a silent vigil. No ordinary musical instrument, this piano is a member of the family--intricately carved with the faces of its brothers and sisters, it is a living, breathing reminder of a sad and storied past. The voices of many generations have been silenced under the lid of this stout upright--until an argument over selling the piano unearths the haunting melodies that accompanied their kin through some of the darkest times in American history.
