Theater Alliance presents the work of Mexican puppetry company, Luna Morena. From Guadeljara, Mexico, this will be the first time the internationally renowned company has ever performed in the United States. Shadows is a tribute to the work of Edgar Allen Poe. Four poems have been selected whose themes oscillate between darkness and light, the mystery of life and death, and the relationship between the divine and the diabolical. Luna Morena's staging is based on work with puppets, shadows, live music and audio-visual experimentation.
This month's highlights include national tours of The Color Purple (starring American Idol winner Fantasia) and Spring Awakening, the Capital Fringe Festival, Carlos Murillo's dark play or stories for boys, and Sheila Callaghan's Dead City.
