For the third straight season, the Washington Stage Guild turns to a work by American playwright Michael Hollinger (Incorruptible, An Empty Plate at the Café du Grand Boeuf). In Opus, Hollinger tells the story of a string quartet firing an unstable player in favor of a younger musician. The give and take of chamber music is echoed in the sophisticated rhythms of the story itself as the four men who have produced art together for years adjust to the modulations produced by the addition of a young woman. This production of Opus marks the play's Washington area premiere.
