WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Kennedy Center swings open the doors on the 2009 - 2010 season with a day of spectacles for the stage and street. Bring the whole family to see Montreal's L'Arsenal à Musique, one of the leaders in the circus movement, as well as a whole host of American and French street performers, including the NSO, Byron Cage, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Mambo Sauce. Plus, don't miss performances of music, theater, and dance, interactive events, and more.
During the afternoon, take a break and bring the fam up to the Roof Level to meet your favorite authors and browse the shelves of the Multicultural Children's Book Festival. Authors including Tonya Bolden, Monica Brown, Bryan Collier, Shane Evans, Anne Sibley O'Brien, and Linda Sue Park will be present for this popular Kennedy Center event. Hundreds of titles will be available for purchase during this festival that brings you face to face with the writers and artists who create them.
