Synopsis

The Kennedy Center presents the world premiere of Mermaids, Monsters, and the World Painted Purple, written by Marco Ramirez and directed by Gregg Henry. Recommended for audiences aged nine and up.

Capturing the spirit of the Latino community, Mermaids, Monsters, and the World Painted Purple is a series of six interconnected stories drawn from the Latino world, including traditional folklore as well as contemporary pop culture.

Miami-based Marco Ramirez's characters experience adventures with creatures under the sea, monsters in the subway, and even find time to paint the world purple for someone they love.
