WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

With First You Dream Signature continues its intimate relationship with the works of the great Broadway songwriting team of Fred Ebb and John Kander which received national attention during Signature's acclaimed 2008 Kander & Ebb Celebration. This world premiere theater event will feature music from 15 of Kander and Ebb's musicals and movies, starting from their 1965 musical Flora, the Red Menace through hits like Cabaret and Chicago to their most recent shows, Curtains and The Visit.

WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?

Folks who are not fans of greatest hits compilations may be forgiven for wondering why Eric Schaeffer and Signature Theatre have gone through all the trouble to create First You Dream: The Music of Kander & Ebb, a first-rate revue of work from legendary songwriting duo John Kander & Fred Ebb.

After all, wasn't that already done with And the World Goes 'Round? And doesn't that necessarily mean that these songs, culled from the team's 17 musicals and a few of their films, are the ones not popular enough to be included the first time around? Well, yes and no.
