WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A mother and daughter discover America - and themselves - on a spontaneous cross-country road trip in this funny, heart-warming new play by Quiara Alegría Hudes, Pulitzer Prize finalist and author of the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit In the Heights.
In 1986, teenage Olivia, who lives in the Philadelphia suburbs with her Jewish dad Aaron, receives a surprise visit from her estranged Cuban-born mother Beatriz. Leaving her second husband behind, Beatriz whisks her daughter away on a long-distance car trip to Yellowstone National Park - a journey meant to fulfill the girl's long-standing desire to see a buffalo. Along the way, they discover love, understanding, and find out what family really means.
