WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Written by Henrik Ibsen Directed by Anders Paulin Norway's National Theatre has enjoyed a long association with legendary playwright Henrik Ibsen, presenting most of the late Norwegian's boundary-pushing body of work. Here it performs The Wild Duck, which begins with the homecoming of Gregers Werle, who arrives to find his old friend, Hjalmar Ekdal, involved in a scandalous lie, of which he has no knowledge. Gregers is determined to expose the lie, involving an affair between his father and Hjalmar's wife, Gina. Meanwhile, Ekdal's daughter Hedvig is losing her eyesight and spends her days playing in the attic with a captive wild duck. In Norwegian with English supertitles. Part of Nordic Cool 2013.
