Saddled with a devastating physical deformity, John Merrick was plucked from a 19th century London freak show to be protected and studied in a hospital in 1884. Surprisingly, Merrick became a mover in London's high society. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play, Bernard Pomerance's The Elephant Man is a gripping drama that explores social values and human worth. Jim Petosa directs.
