WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter, and Ian, a hard driving rocker, become creatively and romantically entangled as they journey from their native Glasgow to London and New York and are catapulted into the punk rock explosion and a quest for stardom. A gritty rock musical, Rooms explores the universal desire to escape and create, to love and explore.Originally produced as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival 2005.A co-production with Geva Theatre Center, Rochester, NY.

Nastascia Diaz Monica does a frenetic and powerful performance of "damn the conventions" naivete. With well-timed comic relief the play connected with a broad audience. The score is surprising in its variety and helps to drive and complete the narrative. Good luck in New York!

Rooms
A great pair of performances! Doug Kreeger Ian shines as a brooding musician. Noteworthy, is that hes empathetic and doesnt come off as an ass. His understated, emotional performance conveys a desperation of wanting something which inwardly he feels is undeserved and unattainable - love and acceptance. "Brilliant" when considering Ian is an alcoholic.
