WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Set in 19th century Poland, the great Isaac Bashevis Singer's tale of forbidden love and holy vengeance. Young talmudic scholars Azriel and Zizl love studying more than they love their new wives, and so they flee Lublin to concentrate on their studies. But their ardor for Talmud is overtaken by even more personal passion as Singer's characters grapple with human impulse in an unforgiving cosmos. Adapted from Singer's story "Two" by his son, Israel Zamir, and one of Israel's most important playwrights, Motti Lerner.
