WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Washington National Cathedral provides a magnificent venue for Folger Consort's 400th anniversary performances of Claudio Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers--a work The Washington Post calls "exuberantly confrontational" and "agelessly contemporary." Folger Consort presents this monument of Western music, as it might have been heard in 1610, with a Baroque orchestra and stellar vocal soloists.
