God of Vengeance is a co-production of Rorschach Theatre and Theater J. This new adaptation of the Yiddish classic tells the story of Yankel Chapchovich, a Jewish businessman who commissions the writing of a sefer torah to cleanse his house and buy respect in the Jewish community. Yankel's sin? Running a brothel out of his basement! Yankel attempts to shield his daughter Rivke from this life, but she reveals an independent spirit and will of her own.
