Dog & Pony DC is pleased to present developmental performances of its latest production, working title Beertown at CHAW this June. Beertown explores the dynamic and tenuous relationship between the myth of a town and its individual citizens, and shares the history of an invented American small town through the dreams and memories of its citizens. The theatrical event will be an interactive exploration of American history, civic ritual, personal identity, community and memory, that incorporates live music, group storytelling, map making, and home movies. All performances include a dessert "pot luck" and attendees are encouraged (not required) to bring a nut-free dessert to share. As Beertown is a work-in-progress, all performances will conclude with a dialogue with the audience examining the show's content, style, and impact.
