Audra McDonald

Audra McDonald presents a ten-city U.S. Tour, performing songs from her new Nonesuch record, Build a Bridge. Known for her work on Broadway, which has earned her four Tony Awards, and her musical theater and classical performances, McDonald looked beyond her usual repertoire for this record. The result is a thirteen-song collection of music mostly written by artists from the pop world, including Elvis Costello, Nellie McKay, John Mayer, Randy Newman, Laura Nyro, Neil Young, and Rufus Wainwright, among others. "(McDonald) is a one-woman crossroads of vocal genres whose conceptual flair and vocal flexibility upend conventional wisdom about the boundaries between classical and popular song." -- The New York Times Schedule Friday, September 15, 8pm East Lansing, MI Wharton Center Saturday, September 16, 8pm Brookfield, WI Wilson Center Saturday, September 30, 8pm Stony Brook, NY Staller Center Tuesday, October 3, 8pm Wednesday, October 4, 8pm San Francisco, CA Bimbo's 365 Club Friday, October 6, 8pm Fresno, CA Fresno Grand Opera, Warnors Theater Wednesday, October 11, 8pm Thursday, October 12, 8pm New York, NY Frederick P.
