Washington, DC's Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced casting for its upcoming production of Camelot, set to run in Sidney Harman Hall May 22-July 1. The classic musical features a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Alan Paul directs.

Alexandra Silber, best known for her Broadway turns in Master Class and Fiddler on the Roof, will star as Guenevere, alongside Ken Clark (The Great Comet) as King Arthur, Nick Fitzer as Lancelot, Patrick Vaill as Mordred, Ted van Griethuysen as Merlyn, and Floyd King as Pellinore.

The ensemble will include Paul Victor, Brandon Bieber, Mark Banik, Ben Gunderson, Veronica Burt, Frankie Shin, Casey Wenger-Schulman, Bridget Riley, Chadae, Jennifer Cordiner, Melissa Wimbish, and Trinity Sky Deabreu as Tom of Warwick.

Amid mystical forests and grand castles, Camelot tells a strikingly familiar tale of a leader’s integrity, courage and empathy — a chronicle of the struggle for civilization and goodness in a world accustomed to violence and hate.
