Olney Theatre Center Presents the Rolling World Premiere of Bad Dog

Bad Dog starts its run tonight at Olney Theatre Center as part of the Women’s Voices Theater Festival.
The show presents a twist on the classic American family comedy with recovered alcoholic Molly Drexler at its center. After 10 years, Molly breaks her sobriety with a bang by driving her Prius through her living room wall. This prompts her family, including Molly’s two sisters, mother, father, and wicked stepmother, to stage an intervention. In a house with a hole in the wall as big as the ones in their hearts, the family’s attempts to get through to Molly play out in a way no one expected.
Written by Jennifer Hoppe-House, the show is directed by Jeremy B. Cohen. It features Holly Twyford as Molly Drexler, Alyssa Wilmoth Keegan as Abby Cory, Amy McWilliams as Becky Drexler, Emily Townley as Linda Drexler, Naomi Jacobson and Leo Erickson as Molly’s mother and father, Gladys Rodriguez as Sandra, and Carlos Saldaña as Cop/Kaufmann/Contractor.
"The second golden age of television is giving voice – and work – to some of this generation’s most extraordinary writers," said Jason Loewith, Olney Theatre Center’s artistic director. "So we’re thrilled to add Jennifer Hoppe-House’s voice to the canon, especially during such an amazing community-wide festival of hot new plays."
The creative team includes Tony Cisek (scenic design), Dan Covey (lighting design), Josh Horvath (sound designer), Ivania Stack (costume and wig design), and Keri Schultz (stage manager).
