Carousel Celebrates Opening Night

The cast and creative team of Carousel celebrated their opening night at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage on November 10.

Betsy Morgan and Nicholas Rodriguez lead the cast of the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical as Julie Jordan and Billy Bigelow.

As part of the opening-night festivities, Arena Stage presented the American Artist Award to Tony- and Emmy-nominated director and playwright Moisés Kaufman.

The award recognizes artists for their contributions to American theater. Past recipients include Sheldon Harnick, Kathleen Turner, Leslie Uggams, Edward Albee, James Earl Jones, Robert "Bob" Alexander, August Wilson, and Arena Stage cofounder Zelda Fichandler.
