Grammy Award winner Brandy Norwood is set to play Roxie Hart in a limited two-week engagement of Chicago (National Tour) at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., April 4-16. Norwood made her Broadway debut in the same role, playing a limited run (April 28-August 2, 2015) in the Broadway production of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre.

Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. Recipient of six 1997 Tony Awards, the revival is directed by Walter Bobbie.

A singer, songwriter, and actress, Brandy Norwood has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. Her many hits include "I Wanna Be Down" and "The Boy Is Mine." As an actress, she starred in the sitcom Moesha and the Disney television film adaptation of Cinderella in the title role. She received a 2014 NAACP Image Award for her role as Chardonnay on BET's The Game.
