Pulitzer Prize Winner Disgraced Enters Arena Stage's 2015-16 Season

Tony- and Drama Desk-winning ”All the Way” also joins the lineup.

Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage has announced the lineup of productions set for its 66th season.

The world-premiere musical Dear Evan Hansen will open the season with an engagement in the Kreeger Theater from July 9-August 23. The show features a book by Steven Levenson, music and lyrics by Tony nominees Justin Paul and Benj Pasek (Dogfight). Tony nominee Michael Greif will direct, with choreography by Danny Mefford and musical direction by Alex Lacamoire.

Karen Zacarías' world-premiere comedy Destiny of Desire will follow, running in the Kreeger Theater from September 11-October 18. José Luis Valenzuela will direct.

Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End is next, running from October 16-November 8 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle. The world-premiere play is written by Allison Engel and Margaret Engel and directed by David Esbjornson.

Artistic Director Molly Smith will then direct a production of Lionel Bart's classic musical Oliver! The production will run on the Fichandler Stage from October 30-January 3, 2016.

During the holiday season, the Children’s Theatre Company will also present a world-premiere adaptation of Akeelah and the Bee by Cheryl L. West. Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, performances will run in the Kreeger Theater from November 13-December 27.

Next will be an Oregon Shakespeare Festival world premiere of Lynn Nottage's Sweat, directed by Kate Whoriskey. Performances will run in the Kreeger Theater from January 15-February 21, 2016.

Anthony Giardina's The City of Conversation, which recently made its off-Broadway debut at Lincoln Center, will run next on the Fichandler Stage from January 29-March 6, 2016. Doug Hughes will direct.

The Lion, currently running off-Broadway at the Lynn Redgrave Theater, will also join the Arena Stage season. Written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer and directed by Sean Daniels, the show will run in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle from February 26-April 3, 2016.

Robert Schenkkan's 2014 Tony- and Drama Desk-winning political play All the Way will follow on the Fichandler Stage, running from April 1-May 8, 2016.

Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Disgraced, now running at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre, will close out the Arena season in the Kreeger Theater. Performances will run from April 22-May 29, 2016.
