Shakespeare Theatre Company Announces Free Winter/Spring Programming

The Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced the winter/spring 2012 programming schedule for Happenings at the Harman, a free programming series. All events are offered Wednesdays at noon and are held in the Forum in Sidney Harman Hall.

Each week, there will be a different performances or discussions featuring musicians, actors, dancers, puppeteers, and genre-mixers. Among the artists to be featured in 2012 are pianist, composer and educator Burnett Thompson (January 18), Ballet Teatro Internacional (January 25), guitarists Charles Mokotoff and Matt Palmer (February 1), The Next Reflex Dance Collective (February 22), opera company UrbanArias (March 14), DanceAntonini (May 9), Happenstance Theater (May 17), Congressional Chorus (May 23), Faction of Fools (June 6), and actor Cam Magee and singer Beverly Cosham (June 13).

The Harman Center for the Arts is made up of the new 774-seat Sidney Harman Hall and the 451-seat Lansburgh Theatre, both located in downtown Washington’s Penn Quarter neighborhood. The Harman Center showcases the company as well as local performing arts groups and national organizations.
