Sandy Bainum Launches Her New Album Simply With a One-Night-Only Concert at Virginia's Signature Theatre

Actor/singer Sandy Bainum, a longtime friend of Arlington, Virginia's Signature Theatre who will appear in its production of Gypsy this December, is offering a one-night-only concert and signing event at the theater on November 18 to celebrate the launch of her new CD, Simply. The album features a number of popular showtunes including "A Cockeyed Optimist" from South Pacific, "Goodnight, My Someone" from The Music Man, and "On the Other Side of the Tracks" from Little Me.

Admission to the concert is free, with a suggested donation of $30. Proceeds will go to Only Make Believe, a New York City- and Washington, D.C-based nonprofit organization that brings the arts into hospitals and care facilities for children suffering from chronic illnesses and disabilities.

Since making her Broadway debut in David Merrick's 1980 production of 42nd Street, Bainum has become a staple of D.C. theater, performing at some of the city's biggest theaters including The Kennedy Center, the Washington Savoyards, Signature Theatre, and Ford's Theatre.

Bainum, backed by a six-piece band, will perform at the MAX Theatre, following a showcase of Only Make Believe's work at 7pm. A launch party will follow the performance in the Mead lobby where copies of Simply will available for purchase.
