The world premiere of Morris Panych's new comedy The Shoplifters is now in rehearsals at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage. Drama Desk Award winner and two-time Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell (Follies) makes her D.C. stage debut in the play, surrounding a career shoplifter whose life of petty crime is halted by an overzealous rookie security guard and his ambivalent mentor. Take a look as Houdyshell and her costars Delaney Williams (HBO's The Wire), Jenna Sokolowski (Clybourne Park), and Adi Stein (Body Awareness) gather in the D.C. rehearsal room.

Delaney Williams, Adi Stein, Jayne Houdyshell, and Jenna Sokolowski will begin performances of Morris Panych's The Shoplifters September 5 in Arena Stage's Kreeger Theater.
