The full company has been announced for the world premiere of The Shoplifters, which will open Arena Stage's 2014-15 season.

Written and directed by Canadian playwright Morris Panych, the new comedy examines society’s haves and have-nots and how much they might actually have in common. The story involves a high-stakes battle of wills surrounding a career shoplifter whose life of petty crime is halted by an overzealous rookie security guard and his ambivalent mentor.

As previously announced, Drama Desk Award winner Jayne Houdyshell (Follies) will make her D.C. theater debut in the role of Alma. Joining her in the cast will be stage and screen actor Delaney Williams (HBO’s The Wire) as Otto, Helen Hayes Award winner Jenna Sokolowski (Clybourne Park) as Phyllis, and Adi Stein (Body Awareness) as Dom.

Performances of The Shoplifters will run from September 5-October 19 in the Kreeger Theater.
