Imagination Stage has announced full casting for its upcoming world premiere production of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, June 20-August 12 at the Annette M. and Theodore N. Lerner Family Theatre. Janet Stanford directs.

Based on the novel by C.S. Lewis, Imagination Stage’s production of the beloved story features four children played jointly by an actor and a dancer and the courageous lion Aslan portrayed by a life-sized puppet operated by three actor/puppeteers.

The cast will include actors Christopher Wilson (Peter), Kate Guesman (Susan), Rafael Cuesta (Edmund), and Justine Moral (Lucy) as well as dancers Laura Chachich (Susan) and Daniel Savetta (Edmund) of The Washington Ballet’s Professional Trainee Program and Francesca Forcella (Lucy), a member of The Washington Ballet’s Studio Company. The cast also features dancer Morgann Rose (the White Witch), Sara Beth Pfeifer (Mrs. Beaver/Voice of the White Witch), and Chong Sun (dancing as Tumnus/Elf). Aslan’s puppeteers include Michael John Casey and Betsy Rosen.

The production’s newly commissioned music is composed by violinist Matthew Pierce. Choreography is by The Washington Ballet’s Artistic Director Septime Webre and Associate Artistic Director David Palmer. Music Director is George Fulginiti-Shakar.

The design team is comprised of Eric J. Van Wyk (set design), Colin Bills (lighting design), and Kathleen Geldard (costume design).
