The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced full casting for its upcoming production of Bill Russell and Henry Krieger's Side Show, which will run in The Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater from June 14-July 13 with an opening on June 19. Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct, with choreography by Anthony van Laast , and musical direction by Sam Davis. The production of Side Show is produced in association with La Jolla Playhouse.
Erin Davie and Emily Padgett will star as Violet and Daisy Hilton, and the cast will also feature Matthew Hydzik, Robert Joy, Ryan Silverman, and David St. Louis. Additional casting includes Brandon Bieber, Charity Dawson, Lauren Elder, Derek Hanson, Javier Ignacio, Jordanna James, Guy Lockard, Kelvin Moon Loh, Barrett Martin, Con O'Shea Creal, Matthew Patrick Davis, Don Richard, Blair Ross, Hannah Shankman, Jason Walker, and Delaney Westfall.
Side Show is based on the true story of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton. The musical examines the ways in which the sisters' extraordinary bondage brought them fame but denied them love.
Side Show will feature scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, and sound design by Kai Harada.
