Ford’s Theatre Announces 2012-2013 Season

Ford’s Theatre has announced plans for its 2012-2013 season, beginning in September.

The season is set to open with Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan’s Fly (September 21-October 21). Directed by playwright Khan, Fly is based on the real-life experiences of the Tuskegee Airmen. For the holiday season, Ford’s Theatre will present an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (November 16-December 30), directed by Michael Baron and adapted by Michael Wilson.

In January, the theater will present a 75th anniversary production of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Our Town (January 18-February 17), directed by Stephen Rayne. Finally, Eric Schaffer will direct Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman’s Hello, Dolly! (January 18-February 17), the story of cantankerous Horace Vandergelder hires matchmaker Dolly Levi to find him a wife.
