First Look at the World Premiere of Beaches, Now at Virginia's Signature Theatre

Broadway alums Mara Davi and Alysha Umphress costar as best friends Bertie and Cee Cee in the new musical adaptation of the popular novel and film.

The world premiere of Beaches is running now through March 30 at Arlington, Virginia's Signature Theatre. Based on the 1985 novel and the 1988 film about the lifelong friendship between Cee Cee Bloom and Bertie White, the production features music by David Austin, lyrics by the story's original author, Iris Rainer Dart, and a book by Dart and Thom Thomas.

Signature Theatre Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer directs Broadway alums Mara Davi (The Drowsy Chaperone) and Alysha Umphress (American Idiot), who star as Bertie and Cee Cee, respectively. Davi and Umphress are joined by Clifton Samuels, Matthew Scott, Donna Migliaccio, Helen Hedman, Brooklyn Shuck, Presley Ryan, Maya Brettell, Gracie Jones, Svea Johnson, and Michael Bunce.
