Signature Theatre has announced casting for Brother Russia, to run March 6 – April 15. Eric Schaeffer will direct the production, which will have choreography by Jodi Moccia and music direction by Gabriel Mangiante.

With book and lyrics by John Dempsey and music by Dana Rowe, the show revisits the true story of Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin, the hypnotic mystic who seduced and ruled the Tsar and Tsarina in the waning days of Imperial Russia, putting it through the lens created by a comically fourth-rate Russian theater troupe, which just happens to have as its impresario, the seemingly immortal Rasputin himself.

The company will feature John Lescault as Rasputin, along with Natascia Diaz, Doug Kreeger, Amy McWilliams, Tracy Lynn Olivera, Erin Driscoll, Stephen Gregory Smith, Rachel Zampelli, Russell Sunday, Kevin McAllister, and Christopher Mueller.

The creative team will include Misha Kachman (scenic design), Kathleen Geldard (costume design), Colin K. Bills (lighting design), and Matt Rowe (sound design), along with orchestrator August Eriksmoen, who will also conduct.
