Patti LuPone, Phylicia Rashad, and Richard Thomas Join Classic Conversations Series at Shakespeare Theatre Company

The celebrated actors will discuss classical theater with Artistic Director Michael Kahn at the Washington, D.C. theater.

Tony Award-winning actresses Patti LuPone (Gypsy) and Phylicia Rashad (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) as well as Emmy Award-winning actor Richard Thomas (The Waltons) will join Shakespeare Theatre Company Artistic Director Michael Kahn for three separate installments of the D.C. theater's Classic Conversations series. Kahn will sit down with the actors to discuss a range of topics in the field of classical theater, from its history to its current influence.

LuPone is first in the lineup, scheduled for a sit-down on Monday, February 17, at Sidney Harman Hall. Rashad will follow, joining Kahn on Sunday, March 9, at the Lansburgh Theatre, and Thomas will come to the Lansburgh Theatre on Monday, March 31.

Previous Classic Conversations have been held with Tony nominee Stacy Keach (Other Desert Cities), two-time Tony winner Kevin Kline (Cyrano de Bergerac), two-time Tony winner Christopher Plummer (Inherit the Wind), and Tony nominee Patrick Stewart (Waiting for Godot). "The Shakespeare Theatre Company is honored to host such esteemed actors and to hear their thoughts on their role in classical theatre and how it has helped them shape their craft," says Kahn. "It is a tremendous opportunity for our patrons and I have a great time as well."
