The World Premiere Cast of Little Dancer Previews the Brand New Score From the Rehearsal Room

Boyd Gaines, Rebecca Luker, and Tiler Peck lead the cast of the historic new Ahrens & Flaherty musical, inspired by the tale of Edgar Degas and his balletic muse.

Musical theater is taking a classical turn in Little Dancer, the newest production from Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the songwriting team behind the Tony-winning score of Ragtime. The world premiere production, beginning performances at Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center October 25, tells the story of Marie van Goethem, the young ballerina who famously posed for sculptor Edgar Degas. Directed by five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman, the cast is led by four-time Tony winner Boyd Gaines, three-time Tony nominee Rebecca Luker, and New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck. Take a look as TheaterMania chats with the cast of the new musical and gets a sneak peek at some rehearsal-room performances.
