Temple of the Souls Brings a Pair of Star-Crossed Lovers to NYMF

The New York Musical Festival presents a mythical romance, set in the rain forest of Puerto Rico.

The New York Musical Festival offers a new spin on the classic Romeo and Juliet story with Temple of the Souls, beginning its five-performance run on July 19 at the Acorn Theatre. The pop musical, written by Anita Velez-Mitchell, Anika Paris, Lorca Peress, and Dean Landon, tells the story of Amada, the beautiful daughter of a Conquistador, and Guario, a young Taíno, who meet in the magical rain forest of Puerto Rico and escape to the Temple of the Souls. Hear what the cast and creators have to say about the brand-new piece, accompanied by selections from the musical's original score.
