Sutton Foster, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and More Stars Celebrate Fun Home on Its Broadway Opening Night

Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron's award-winning musical brings new faces to Broadway audiences.

The stars were out last night at Circle in the Square Theatre where Fun Home made its official Broadway debut. The acclaimed musical, which originated off-Broadway at the Public Theater, is a stage adaptation of Alison Bechdel's graphic novel. The story follows Bechdel's evolving relationship with her closeted gay father while she comes to terms with her own homosexuality. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Lea DeLaria, and Sutton Foster were among the opening-night guests, celebrating the groundbreaking show. Its accomplished creators Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron were on hand after the performance as well to reflect on their long journey to the Broadway stage.
