“Sing for Your Seniors” Brings Music, Joy, and Broadway’s Kinky Boots to New York Seniors

Founder Jackie Vanderbeck brings Broadway to local seniors who might not otherwise be able to enjoy all that New York theater has to offer.

In 2005, singer Jackie Vanderbeck began singing at a New York senior center to entertain her great-grandmother and her friends. The seniors of the Village Adult Day Center loved it so much that Jackie would come back week after week with some of her other singer friends. Cut to nine years later and “Sing for Your Seniors” is now performing in numerous senior centers around New York City, bringing music and love to seniors. TheaterMania joined “Sing for Your Seniors” and the Tony-winning cast of Kinky Boots at the SAGE center for LGBT seniors to speak with the actors and capture the performance.
