Santino Fontana Feels The Roar of the Greasepaint — The Smell of the Crowd

Fontana and director Scott Ellis preview their new production of this classic musical.

In the next step of an eclectic career that has driven him back and forth from plays to musicals, Tony nominee Santino Fontana is trying his hand at writing. Fontana has crafted a new script for the classic musical The Roar of the Greasepaint — The Smell of the Crowd, which will have its premiere this summer as a workshop at Vassar and New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater. Recently, Fontana, who will also star, and director Scott Ellis joined TheaterMania to talk about this new project, which is already several years in the making.
