Sandra Caldwell and the Cast of Philip Dawkins's New Play Charm the Press

The work follows Mama Darleena Andrews — a 67-year-old black transgender woman and etiquette expert.

During a recent break from rehearsal, the company of MCC's Charm took the opportunity to meet the press and talk a bit about their new show. The work, which follows a 67-year-old black transgender woman who takes it upon herself to teach an etiquette class at Chicago's LGBTQ community center, is inspired by the true story of Miss Gloria Allen. Meet Allen, as well as the show's cast and crew, as they charm on press day.
