Preview Selections From Do I Hear a Waltz? at City Center Encores!

Melissa Errico, Claybourne Elder, and more lead the revival cast.

Do I Hear a Waltz? begins its brief run tonight at New York City Center, where it will play only seven performances through May 15. The rarely seen 1965 musical, based on the play The Time of the Cuckoo by Arthur Laurents, is the only collaboration between Richard Rodgers (music) and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics). It tells the romantic tale of Leona Samish (Melissa Errico), a middle-class American woman who uses her meager savings for a long-dreamed-of trip to Venice, where she finds love, life, and her truest self. Get a sneak peek at scenes from the show, featuring clips from the lesser-known Rodgers and Sondheim score.
