Linda Lavin Celebrates an Opening Night of Broadway Surprises in Our Mother's Brief Affair

Richard Greenberg opens his latest family play at MTC's Friedman Theatre.

Richard Greenberg's new comic drama, Our Mother's Brief Affair, opened last night at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, where Tony Award winner Linda Lavin makes her Broadway return. The actress plays Anna, a family matriarch perennially on the verge of death, who confesses an affair from her past to her grown children. Lavin and her Broadway costars chatted with TheaterMania about the play, which is full of spoilers they were careful not to reveal. But what they can tell you, is that you're sure to leave the theater with plenty to discuss at your next family dinner.
