Les Misérables Returns to Broadway With Ramin Karimloo, Will Swenson, and More

TheaterMania caught up Caissie Levy, Nikki M. James, and the cast of the epic musical in anticipation of its new revival.

Composer Claude-Michel Schönberg's Les Misérables is just days away from celebrating its highly anticipated return to Broadway — its third mounting on the Great White Way since its 1987 debut. Cameron Mackintosh's new production, beginning performances March 1 at the Imperial Theatre, will feature Laurence Connor and James Powell's brand new staging of Victor Hugo's classic tale of revolution in 19th century France.

The all-star cast features Ramin Karimloo in his Broadway debut as Jean Valjean, Tony nominee Will Swenson (Hair) as Javert, Caissie Levy (Ghost) as Fantine, Tony winner Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon) as Éponine, Andy Mientus (Smash) as Marius, Cliff Saunders (The 39 Steps) as Thénardier, Tony nominee Keala Settle (Hands on a Hardbody) as Madame Thénardier, Samantha Hill (The Phantom of the Opera) as Cosette, and Kyle Scatliffe in his Broadway debut as Enjolras.

Take a look as TheaterMania chats with the cast about bringing this classic tale back to its Broadway home and preparing to join the musical phenomenon that is Les Miz.
