Lea Michele, Katie Holmes, and More Take Center Stage in Our Les Misérables Supercut

Toast the 29th anniversary of Les Misérables' original Broadway opening night with this collection of Éponines singing

Twenty-nine years ago today, the original Broadway production of Les Misérables celebrated its opening night at the Broadway Theatre. Running 16 years and initiating a film and two subsequent revivals (one is still playing at the Imperial, where the original mounting would move), the musical has taken on legendary status. Its tunes are ingrained in the minds of theatergoers everywhere, performed by scores of stars in various settings. In honor of the anniversary, we've put together a supercut of one such Les Miz classic — "On My Own" — sung by a selection of some of its legendary vocalists, ranging from Tony-winning original cast member Frances Ruffelle, through Glee's Lea Michele and a very young Katie Holmes, all the way to the latest Broadway revival's Nikki M. James.
