Jayne Houdyshell Prepares to Tear Up the Floorboards in Relevance at MCC

Emotions run high over issues of gender and race in J.C. Lee's world-premiere play.

Relevance, a new play written by J.C. Lee and directed by Tony nominee Liesl Tommy, is the next production of MCC's 2017-18 season, beginning performances February 1. Tony winner Jayne Houdyshell (The Humans) stars as Theresa Hanneck, a veteran author and feminist, who goes head-to-head with an up-and-coming African-American writer (Tony nominee Pascale Armand) over issues of race and gender. Molly Camp and Richard Masur round out the cast. Take a look as the ensemble pauses rehearsal to offer TheaterMania a look inside the topical world premiere.
