James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson On the "Pain and the Tickle" of The Gin Game

The pair of legends sat down with TheaterMania on opening night to discuss D.L. Coburn's drama.

Every Broadway opening night is important, but when your stars are the iconic actors James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson, the event becomes historic. The pair is currently starring in D.L. Coburn's two-hander The Gin Game at the John Golden Theatre, a work that allows them to run the emotional gamut for their two hours onstage. For the author, they're the ultimate dream cast. For director Leonard Foglia, it's a similar thrill. As for the stars themselves, it's extremely hard but ultimately rewarding work. Just hours after the curtain came down on opening night, the quartet joined TheaterMania for an intimate conversation at theater-district eatery Sardi's.
